DOWNLORD Parts Ways With OPEN GRAVE RECORDS

DOWNLORD, the English, American and Danish metallers based in Copenhagen, Denmark (featuring ex-members of BOLT THROWER, INIQUITY and SACRIFICIAL),have parted ways with Open Grave Records. The band commented, "It was time. The contract was almost up, and we wanted to go it alone. We felt we'd done all we could with OGR, so we're now masters of our own destiny."

In other news, three DOWNLORD members (Dave Ingram, Donovan Spenceley and Rene Falther) have started Darkside Productions.

Commented the group: "It's a company [whose] sole purpose is to utilize the studio Donovan has, for all the bands we are affiliated with, and to push them optimally. For us...by us...for as long as is necessary."

As of now, Darkside Productions will include DOWNLORD, two new and as-yet-untitled projects from Ingram, Spenceley and Falther, and a temporary collaboration with Ingram's other band STRANGLER (which includes Mads Haarløv [ex-INIQUITY] and members of CORPUS MORTALE, SACRIFICIAL, and SUBMISSION)

Commented the band: "We're looking to try this from a different angle, see how it goes after an initial period of self-indulgence, then maybe think of expanding. For now though it's all about us...and it is in no way a crime to put oneselves primarily! New material will be made available online, along with the option to download artwork and lyrics. We want to make a difference, rather than be like the rest of the 'sheeple' out there who sit hiding behind their computer screens being thoroughly negative. Those types won't change anything in this genre."

DOWNLORD's debut album, "Random Dictionary of the Damned", was released in January via Open Grave.
